Gunite(concrete) swimming pools are considered the most permanent of all the in-ground swimming pools that are available today. Gunite pools can be designed and constructed to any size, shape, and depth. All gunite pools include a ceramic tile border at the waterline, and a bullnose brick or stone coping surrounding the pool's perimeter. The pool deck area can be layed in broom finished cement, washed aggregate(washed pebbles)cement, died and stamped decorative cement, or any other surface the homeowner desires.

Vinyl liner swimming pools have been available for over 40 years. By far the most important component of these types of pools is the wall support panels that structurally holds the pool in place. Less expensive liner pools are constructed using wood or steel wall panels, put simply, wood will rot and steel will rust. Underground even aluminum wall panels will oxidize and pit, causing vinyl liner pinholes and leaking problems.
